Advice

There any many ways that Baruch could used new media to improve the college. Having multiple social platforms representing the school, you can quickly update students on any announcements like school being closed due to extraneous weather conditions. Sometimes e-mails may not be the fastest platform to reach students since students use social media more often. Twitter would be a great platform to give students quick announcement updates. Baruch could also use social platforms for students to ask any questions. Each department could have their own social media account as another means to provide assistance to students with inquiries. Students could also view any clubs sponsored by Baruch on these social media platforms and get a taste of what they want to join. Instead of just one day used to show off clubs, new media can be used 24/7 to showcase each clubs' interests and goals.

  1. As it turns out there are twitter accounts for Baruch already in place to convey this information such as https://twitter.com/BaruchCollege and https://twitter.com/baruchcampus

However I do agree that these accounts could be improved on as well as the college itself doing a better job of advertising there social media accounts.

  2. I believe Baruch already has social media accounts but I agree, they definitely need to improve them. Most students do not follow them due to their lack of relevance and information. I feel they should provide important updates on scheduling, weather, relevant due dates, and important upcoming events. Baruch can expand their brand with social media as well.

  3. I feel the Baruch could definitely have a huge revamp of their media system. As a senior, I definitely have not received many updates about things regarding Baruch and I even signed up for text messages. Though I feel this way, Baruch definitely has some social media presence, with their Facebook and Twitter.
